According to Acting Statistician-General of the NSA, Lina Ndafewayo Kafidi, the broadly defined unemployment rate fell to 28.1% in 2014 versus 29.6% reported in 2013. The Labour Force Survey indicated that there was an increase in labour force participation of 10 217 persons, bringing the total labour force to 990 998 persons.
