In value terms, approvals rose by N$35.4 million to N$224.8 million\nin February from N$189.4 million worth of approvals in January. A total of 34\nbuilding plans were completed at a value of N$41.5 million in February.\nYear-to-date, N$414.2 million worth of building plans have been approved. On a\ntwelve-month cumulative basis, 2,024 building plans were approved worth\napproximately N$1.96 billion, 1.2% higher in value terms than cumulative\napprovals in February 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1014\" height=\"484\" src=\"https:\/\/ijg.net\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/2-133.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-25040\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ijg.net\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/2-133.png 1014w, https:\/\/ijg.net\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/2-133-300x143.png 300w, https:\/\/ijg.net\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/2-133-768x367.png 768w, https:\/\/ijg.net\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/2-133-250x119.png 250w, https:\/\/ijg.net\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/2-133-150x72.png 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1014px) 100vw, 1014px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">The largest number of building plan\napprovals in February were made up of additions to properties. 164 additions to\nproperties were approved with a value of N$94.3 million, 18.4% less in value\nterms than in February 2019. Year-to-date 262 additions to properties have been\napproved with a value of N$129.9 million, a 13.5% y\/y decline in value terms. 13\nadditions worth N$9.1 million were completed during the month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1013\" height=\"460\" src=\"https:\/\/ijg.net\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/3-135.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-25041\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ijg.net\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/3-135.png 1013w, https:\/\/ijg.net\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/3-135-300x136.png 300w, https:\/\/ijg.net\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/3-135-768x349.png 768w, https:\/\/ijg.net\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/3-135-250x114.png 250w, https:\/\/ijg.net\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/3-135-150x68.png 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1013px) 100vw, 1013px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">New residential\nunits accounted for 28 of the total 205 approvals registered in February, 11\nmore than the 17 residential units approved in January. In value terms, N$108.6\nmillion worth of residential units were approved in February, 511.5% more than\nthe N$17.8 million worth of residential approvals in January. It should however\nbe noted that one of these residential approvals is a N$71.0 million project.\nYear-to-date 45 residential units have been approved, 16 fewer than during the\ncorresponding period in 2019. In monetary terms, N$126.4 million worth of new\nresidential plans have been approved year-to-date, a decrease of 39.6% when\ncompared to the corresponding period last year. 21 new residential units worth\nN$32.4 million were completed during the month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1025\" height=\"503\" src=\"https:\/\/i1.wp.com\/ijg.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/4-132.png?fit=740%2C363&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-25042\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ijg.net\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/4-132.png 1025w, https:\/\/ijg.net\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/4-132-300x147.png 300w, https:\/\/ijg.net\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/4-132-768x377.png 768w, https:\/\/ijg.net\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/4-132-1024x503.png 1024w, https:\/\/ijg.net\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/4-132-250x123.png 250w, https:\/\/ijg.net\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/4-132-150x74.png 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1025px) 100vw, 1025px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">13 New commercial units valued at\nN$21.9 million were approved in February, bringing the year-to-date number of\napprovals to 19, worth a total of N$157.9 million. On a rolling 12-month\nperspective, the number of commercial and industrial approvals have increased\nto 61 units worth N$647.3 million as at February, compared to the 39 approved\nunits worth N$449.0 million over the corresponding period a year ago.
